Reopening soon — We're getting the shop back up and running and aren't taking customer work just yet. Target: Spring 2027.

The Collection

Rare Tri-Fives, built one at a time

We have a group of rare 1955–57 Chevrolet project cars, and every one of them needs restoring. We build them one at a time into solid, primed rolling chassis, ready for a builder to finish their way.

The cars

[CONFIRM: list as we read it from Justin’s message; please check counts and models]

  • 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad (one). Chevrolet built only about 8,400 Nomads for 1955.
  • 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertibles (two). Convertibles made up only about 3% of 1957 Chevrolet production.
  • 1956 Chevrolet four-doors (four). [CONFIRM: which series: 150, 210 or Bel Air; sedan or hardtop?]
  • 1956 Chevrolet two-door posts (two). [CONFIRM: which series?]
  • 1957 Chevrolet two-door hardtops (two). [CONFIRM: Bel Air or 210?]
  • 1957 Chevrolet trucks (two). [CONFIRM: which models?]
  • 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air eight-door airport limousine (one). A rare coachbuilt eight-door airport limousine. [CONFIRM: ‘one of seven made’: needs the title or builder paperwork before we say it]

All of them are project cars that need restoring. They’re about 70 years old. The average light vehicle on U.S. roads is 12.8 years old (S&P Global Mobility, 2025).

The cars aren’t open for public viewing. [CONFIRM: security/insurance decision pending]

Photos of our cars coming soon
We’ll only post photos of our own cars here.

How we build them

One car at a time.

  • Frame-off blasting. The body comes off the frame and gets blasted.
  • Metal fabrication where it’s needed. Most of these cars need a couple of body panels, a floor pan section or a whole floor pan, a quarter panel, and so on.
  • Primed. The metal is protected and ready for the next shop.
  • Delivered as a rolling chassis. A solid body on its stock frame.

A blank canvas

These are for builders who want a custom rod, not a stock restoration. We don’t load the car with parts you’d just tear out.

Paint, powder coat, suspension, drivetrain and interior are left to you and the shop you trust. The car rolls straight off our trailer and onto yours.

Buying one

We sell these cars mainly at spring and fall Rod Runs. [CONFIRM: which events?]

You can also buy a car up front, before we blast and prime it, and we’ll build it to that same stage for you. [CONFIRM: deposit and terms]

The cars have titles. [CONFIRM: limo title to be provided]

To ask about a car, call Justin at 423-368-9367 or email info@mandkclassics.com.

Follow the builds

Coming soon: a video series on YouTube and other channels following each build from start to finish. Later we’ll edit the footage into how-to segments.

The story

Marvin and Kay opened the shop in 1982. Now Kay’s son Justin, who is in his thirties [CONFIRM: exact age wording], is bringing it back and rebuilding cars about twice his age.

Not many people who were around when these cars were new still work on them, and fewer people Justin’s age run shops that do. We think that’s worth sharing.

Sources: production figures from published Chevrolet production tables (Classic Chevy Club Sweden; other sources vary slightly, 8,386–8,530 Nomads for 1955). Average vehicle age: S&P Global Mobility, 2025.
